March, already? As much as I dislike January and February they certainly disappeared before I could fully appreciate my disdain for them. And, I assume March will go just as quickly, which I will be okay with if the rest of the month is to resemble this first weekend full of rain, wind, and morning hail storms.
Ah, but one good thing came with the first of March…a new roomie!! Yes, we can all sigh in relief that our good friend John is outta here! Last week when John continued to lounge around, stink up the place, and annoy the bejesus out of Anna and I, I decided to call him out on his plans to be out by the end of the week. He looked at me like I was crazy to really expect him to be out by Friday. Unfortunate for him, I was dead serious and once he realize that he got moving.
Although he mooched an extra day off of us, putting Jen out for a night, he somehow managed to be home on Saturday evening at 6.30, packed and loaded it all in a cab by 9.30pm and was gone. Nothing like last the minute to get things done.
While he left Jen’s new room with a stench to reckon with, some old, moldy potatoes in his cupboard, and ran off with all our grocery bags we are glad to see him gone. After a good scrubbing, a fun little trip to IKEA, and some reorganizing we are now settled in and enjoying our little abode at Kubelíkova.
(By the way, ‘ahoj’ is Czech for good-bye. The ‘j’ in Czech is pronounced as the ‘y’ in English so the title of this post actually rhymes quite nicely–in case you were wondering.)
