Must rest

20 November 2009

In an effort to combat the N1H1 from spreading to every child here in Korea, the government has sent vaccines to many public schools, including mine.  This morning, every child in this school lined up for the infamous vaccine.

Permission slips in hand, masks on face, the little monkeys marched into the gym with a feared look in their eyes and were ushered through temperature taking stations and then seated for their dreaded shot.

Before going in they were giggly and nervous.  After coming out some were crying.

All of them were encouraged to rest, and at lunch a few of my students told me how they were not coming to class this afternoon.  “Must rest.  New plu shot. Ouch-ey.”
